Evaluation task 5

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

When filming we used my iPhone which is an example of multi platform technology because we were able to film our opening on the phone and we had the option to edit it on imovie and upload it on to YouTube. This shows that the Iphone is multi platform as you have access to various different apps and games and also a camera.

The iPhone film quality was what i expected off a mobile phone which is very good quality at 1080p HD. The sound in the filming was pretty impressive as the sound could be heard very clearly and did not drop while watching after filming but you could hear quite a bit of background noise which were cars.

I learnt a lot from using the Iphone for our film opening one thing I learnt that is the Iphone is very a practical device that can be used for many things including filming and photography and also a basic editing software.

 We used the computer to edit our film mainly and post our film opening to YouTube and Blogger but editing our film on Adobe Premier elements 10. We learnt that computers have many different aspects that can be used and manipulated to further our film opening.

WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

HAMMER FILMS

I have chosen Hammer Films to be our distribution company because they distribute many different horror films in just the UK such as The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. I wanted to use this company 

Our film will be released  with a national marketing campaign and we will use things such as posters, teaser trailers and YouTube teaser clips. Social media could also be used to promote the film by giving behind the scenes pictures and clips.

hammer films is an important film distributor as they play a major role in the film industry in the UK at distributing and producing films.

The British film institution have helped fund our film alongside British sponsors. They see in the importance of keeping the British film industry alive.

Our actors are named in the titles also at the start of the film our production company Vulture Productions and our and the film company Dark Forest Films then this is followed by the actors names.

The titles of our characters are presented through fades. The name of the director should be present however there has been disagreements with the director so he is not featured.

A production company makes and produces a film with some creative input. Our production company Vulture productions is a British film company as we want to stop the american film industry from taking over and keep the British film industry alive.

Our film is similar to some films that Hammer Films have put out before such as The Woman in Black 2.

Evaluation activity 4 - Who would be the audience for your media project?

The type of audience who would watch our film would be very mixed, from teenagers to older aged people, this is because horror films attract a wide range of audiences.


Teenagers would shop in the high street, these kind of people would shop in the high street and different kind of shops due to the wide range of audience as many people watch horror films. The music these people would listen to would be varied as everyone likes something different. Films that are associated with our film would be things such as cabin in the woods due to the fact the characters are being followed and they don't know it till the the middle of the film. Audience members would watch tv series such as The walking dead, American horror story and the vampire diaries. This is because they are popular, entertaining and everybody talks about and discusses the events and characters within the series. Therefore our film would attract this audience as they would want to discuss the action, dramatic events and enigma codes that occur within our film.

Evaluation Activity 2 - Social groups

Both have similar costumes, where they are wearing sports clothes, hoodies, fashionable clothes for teenagers. This is recognizable for a teenage audience and follows stereotypical costumes for teenagers in horror films. Both have a similar build, typically attractive to a females audience. Young male teenagers could identify the characters as the are relate-able. They are both main characters involves in the horror action. They also both build up tension for the film. Our male protagonist dies in our film which is similar to the actor in the horror film below. teenage characters often die in horror films which the audience would expect to happen in the narrative.
